Just wondering, has anyone experienced changing the barrel of a Glock 23 to the .357 barrel? I know there's different brands out there of conversion barrels, but not sure which ones to look at. Not there's anything wrong with the .40 cal, but from what I read; I can easily change out the barrel and should change the magazines to get a .357...

I have a Lone Wolf barrel for my 23 that lets me shoot 9mm with 19 mags, the barrel change is all that required to shoot .357 sig out of a 23.

To go from a 23 to a "19" requires a barrel swap and 19 or 17 mags, the 23 mags designed to hold .40 ammo will not hold the 9mm ammo in the mag. Going from .40 to 9mm some experience ejection issues as the ejector in the 23 sits slightly different from the 19 and MAY not properly contact the spent shell casing. I have had zero problems with mine... I will probably be at Shiloh tomorrow night if you want to try my barrel in your 23....

My wife has a G19, which I can shoot anytime. But, any excuse to go shoot is a good one...

What time are you planning to be there?

I've taken my barrel out of my G31 and put it in my G22C just to see how it would perform and it did without problems... Lone Wolf has a nice selection of aftermarket and conversion barrels that could fill your void. Been looking for a .400 Corbon barrel for my G21SF for awhile but I am picky and want a 6" barrel instead of a 5"....

So, I could have gotten a G23, and bought a G19 barrel and mags, and it would have been fine?

    Darn.

No, you would have to buy a conversion barrel, the G19 barrel is to small for the end of the slide on the G23, but the G19 conversion barrel can be had for about $100 or so from Lone Wolf.

Would I need to buy a coversion barrel or will a standard barrel work to switch to a .357? From what I read, seems like the barrel itself would be fine...

You can buy an OEM .357 SIG barrel for your 22/23/27 and it will work. The .357 SIG is the .40 S&W case necked down to a 9mm bullet.

To go to 9mm you need to buy an aftermarket conversion barrel, like the Lone Wolf barrel.

Thanks... I'll take advantage of the 2-in-1 Glock...

Wife asked me "Why do you want to buy a .357 barrel?"
I replied with a blank stare "I'm a guy and it's a gun, why not?"

Yep! A cold front coming in this weekend at the ole ConnRadd house!!!

It's like having one of those flip around belts. One belt for brown or black.
