Clay, that's not a parkerized finish, it's Rustoleum flat black spraypaint that I used to hide all the scratches from you.

So the G27 that I just aquired has parkerized type finish on the slide and I found out it was made in 1999. I purchased a new G22 in 2001 and a new G23 in 2006 that both had a harder more durable finish. When did Glock switch to the later style finish? i like that one much better.
They went to the Tenifer finish between 1999 and 2001.
a chunk of the slide already fell off and i just super glued it back on. I carry it for show anyways!!

It's a change in finish. They all have the hardening process and anti-corrosion process, but the final processing is different between the Generation 1/2s and the Generation 3s.
