Not sure if this has been posted here but I didn't flip thru all 35 pages. Attached is a Jim Hoag ultra longslide (11') made from 2 barrels & slides. I've actually shot the thing. He said the hardest thing was to get a proper spring for the weight of the barrel. I was fortunate to live close enough to his shop and he was my go-to smith for anything. RIP Jim.

is this an 80% ? I hope you document the build, this will be a great thread to share.
    It is not.
I came across a 7 digit slide and decided that the MEU-SOC build that I've always wanted: I should do it. Sooooooo... I'm grabbing parts as I go and am building it. Barrel is up next.
I'm on 1911Addicts as BuyDirt. I'm lightly chronicling it there.

Picked up the new to me trp today then a quick clean and 100rds at an indoor range. This thing is slick, best production 1911 I’ve ever shot. I’m gonna change the grips and get an arched msh.

After being gone for several months, I just wanted to say this thread title still makes me giggle every time I see it.
Just wait. He might be carrying a terrible swift sword, but on his hip will be a 1911 and the golden girdle around His paps will be full of Wilson Combat replacement magazines.

Just you wait. Watch, therefore! :abduction:
