So again, not caliber, but shot placement matters... A headshot is what finally stopped the guy. Where are all the .45 ACP evangelists? You failed to mention the guy switched to 9mm lol
Left it up for people to read the article. Idc what caliber it is, if I can carry more of it then I am all for it.

I think he is smart for having two weapons that can use the same caliber and mags as a primary and backup weapon

Had the Remmy back out again today, and went through all the four boxes of Sellier and Belliot I had... DAMN that thing shoots quarter sized group all day long and it's the unmodded base model.

So I had bid on one of those new Remington Recon Commanders and I completely forgot about it. It wasnt on my gunbroker watch list either so I didnt get any notifications until it was over. Both calibers are going for around 915-950. Just won it for $700. Hope something on my sale thread sells soon

So many 1911's, so little time.

    What's next? 10mm? .22LR? 38Super?
I saw a nice RIA in 10mm but .22lr makes more sense. 10mm and 38 super would be something I wouldnt shoot too much.

Mostly 9mm, .45, .22, .223, x39 and shotguns. Any other calibers have a tendency to get sold off.

    Who makes a good, reliable .22 1911??

You can go two ways on this.
A conversion unit. Its a slide assembly you swap out the centerfire slide with.
    or
    A dedicated .22 pistol.
I have no experience with the conversion units.
I've heard the Marvel units are GTG.
    https://www.marvelprecision.com/unit-2/

I went with the GSG 1911-22.
Wanted a full size for training/practice
    They're not expensive.
Not target grade accuracy. Minute of soda can.
Nowadays there are aftermarket goodies for them.
