I have (shamefully) paid more than that for Russian steel case.

    Was this a good buy?
Site says it's used. Looks to be in fair condition.

I think it's not a bad deal. Lots of folks hate on Llama....I have a soft spot for them.

Lots of parts are not interchangeable with 'mil-spec' 1911s, but that is what it is. These, I'm fairly certain, are still manufactured.

I dropped out at $240 which would have made my out-the-door price right at $300. I agree with both of you; it wasn't really a bad deal but, at that price, I was happy to have passed.

It's crazy but that auction house routinely gets really high prices for garbage guns. At least this one was close to reasonable.

Sorry boss...I wasnt tryin to rub it in......:green:

Truthfully, giving that much for steel wasnt hard to do not too long ago.
All in all I believe the price of ammo is coming down slowly. I track 9mm, 45ACP, & .223/5.56.

Yes it is! Now is the time to stock up. I've been adding each month or every other month and gotten some great prices on quality brass ammo across the board. My thought is it will start going back up when we get close to the election. And depending on what happens, could go way up.

Why would I if I'm just building my own? I'm not going to waste money on parts I won't use.

If you are building your own from scratch, then probably not. But for many who have purchased factory guns, the grip is usually the first thing to go. Also, I know personally, I have a bunch of LPK's that come with them. Though I don't really have an issue with them, on some assemblies there's a good chance I would opt for something better and be left with extras of these standard grips.
