$220 delivered for 1000 rds of Blazer Brass. In Feb of 2020.
$169.90 in September 2019 delivered for 1000 rounds of 115 grain Blazer Brass

$179.80 in September 2019 delivered for 1000 rounds of 147 grain Blazer Brass

I won't buy for more than 20 cents a round shipped for 147 grain Blazer Brass

Smith and Wesson sales off 47% in most recent quarter

Ammo prices will be dropping a lot soon and so will guns

Unless the companies cut production and start layoffs....then prices may go even higher.

Hotshot the President of the US and the Senate are working to vote an assault weapons ban in. Gun and ammo prices aren't going down. If anything they'll go up.

Secondly, even if NONE of the above was true, component prices have gone up 50%. Prices will NEVER be below 25 cpr for brass new from major ammo manufacturers.

If you don't know and understand this graph then you shouldn't talk about future prices.

The non-.gov contract market for both firearms and ammo is miniscule.

My last annual training ammo allocation was 1.61M rounds of M855 and 22.2K rounds of 9x19. That was one squadron for FY15. There were seven squadrons like mine in my ASOG. SecFo Squadrons are the largest squadrons manpower wise in the AF; they have 3x+ my manpower and probably 5x or more my training requirements.

Just like reloading components, the civilian ammo market is revenue dust for the manufacturers.

About 20 years ago i had lunch with a gentleman who worked for a start up / up start brass manufacture. He told the story of his company that started making custom brass for reloaders in small specialty batches. As time went on they signed contracts to manufacture slightly larger lots under others headstamp, like DIXIE. These contracts allowed for more stability and growth for about 18 years. Then they got a contract from a major manufacture, who got a military contract, and needed more capacity. Now add on 20 more years, the retail, reloading market for them is dust.

It doesn't matter if it passes. It only matters that they say it's in process. People freak out and start hoarding and prices rise, it's supply demand.
