    Hey all,

I'm looking to get back into 10mm in a 1911 platform. I do know some of them can funky with HP ammo and so they always recommend ball ammo but I'd like to not have to worry about any of that. Any good reliable 10mm in 1911 platform.

Might look at the Ruger SR1911. The Ruger 1911's have seemed to be pretty reliable and getting great reviews.

Also might check out the Springfield Armory 1911 in 10mm. I have owned more than a few SA 1911's over the years, and have never been disappointed with them.

Both of these are on my short list for adding a 10mm to my 1911 collection.

Cannot speak specifically to 10mm, by I have a 9mm and .45 Rock Island that are very reliable.

Some years ago I owned a RIA 1911 in 45 and it was a very solid and dependable pistol and well worth the money.

IMO, the RIA and the MetroArms 1911's are very underappreciated 1911 on the market. They are not as nicely finished as some other brands, but they are well built, reliable and decently accurate pistols. For the price, a person wanting a good decent shooting pistol, they are hard to beat for the price.

I figure if STI can by RIA mad components and get 3 to 5k for their guns, RIA must not be too bad!

I don't know about currently, but STI was sourcing a lot of their frames and slides from RIA for a lot of their 1911 pistols. And STI has reputation for well built pistols.
That is what I was aiming to state. Certainly a RIA in no STI, but then again its not 3k either. I think for the money RIA is tough to beat.

Agreed. But the frame and slide are pretty much the foundation for 1911's. Start with those in a quality items, and you can build a top notch 1911 out of them. Even $3K 1911's!

    Gunz are icky.
My Kimber camp guard runs good with Colt mags. The Kimber mags feed lips aren’t right. They cause feeding issues. The Colt mags run much better.

Am also interested in 10 mm but particularly want to know about how well supported the chamber is as I would want to reload. I have a Ruger sr1911 full size in 45acp that is superb.
