Went about 120 miles today just enjoying the sites. Stopped at every historic marker I passed except one in Meridian I couldn't find. Think the sign may have lied.

Hit Morgan, Walnut Springs, Meridian, and Clifton before heading back home. Wished I had packed a lunch but guess I'll know better next time.

Gonna look for a large Texas road map so I can start crossing off highways. Be nice to find one with locations of the Historic markers so I can start crossing them off and keeping track of where I've been.

Should probably take more pictures of the cool stuff instead of the signs next time but I started out using it to log the ones I've been to.

Thanks for the trip report. In my younger days, I'd jump on my bike and drive all over North Carolina with no plan in mind. Had a Kodak Instamatic 110 camera back then, and it took a while to get the film developed. Biggest problem was finding a gas station off the beaten path (and tarheels who did not much care for motorcycles zipping through their territory).

Considering a better camera. The iPhone is convenient but not the best for good photos.

If you have an iPhone there's an ap that shows all of the Texas Historical Markers near you (or in any area you choose) along with good info about each.

A must for anyone who enjoys checking out the markers.

I use it a lot in my travels.
