Good stock for an AR

Im Looking for a good stock with a little padding on the back. The current stock works great but when adjusting it out the cam sticks and once the pin had fallen out causing it to come apart. When it's fixed in place it holds fine though but it's too unreliable for me. It's a cheap stock that came in a package. Any recommendations?

Check out the Magpul CTR stock. They have a locking lever to help keep the rattling down. Magpul also has several other options if you check their website.

Luthe AR is another option if you want more adjustability with length of pull & cheek comb.

VLTOR stocks suck with facial hair. LaRue RAT stocks can be purchased with a handy cleaning rod, but don't have much in the way of storage
The CTR has a good locking mechanism, and you can get monopods and reciprocating cheek risers for it if you want.
SOPMOD stocks have a very nice cheek weld, and would be my personal choice.

CTR I'd my basic go to. Like EZ said, the little locking tab to reduce wobble makes all the difference to me. Otherwise it's just cosmetic.

While this is true I'd like one with a little cushion for the big boys. The cheap all plastic one on my 223 wouldn't be very fun on the 450

I bought one of these yesterday for that mossberg 500 I picked up. It hasn't arrived, but reviews said it was a wobble free fit with some padding.

Magpul makes different thickness recoil pads for the CTR/STR etc. stocks.

I’ve ran both for over a decade the ace will feel softer do to the much thicker pad and is good for 450/458.

I'm a big fan of the SOPMOD stocks. Mine's a B5. A little heavy and bulky, but so nice to use.

Magpul UBR is one of my favorites.

Magpul PRS is top notch too.

They also recently came out with the PRS LITE which is a very nice stock.

Another vote for the VLTOR.

Magnum always grabs my beard hair. Haven’t had that issue with the VLTOR.

I trimmed a pad from Amazon and glued it to a houge stock for the Mossberg 500. Should add some cushion for $60 all in.

Really depends on the minimum perimeters you are looking for. Plastic or metal? Metal I would say the CAR retro stock by ACE/DoubleStar or the M4 SOCOM stock by ACE/DoubleStar. Both of these are trully durable. The M4 SOCOM is the most durable, but it weighs a bit more than the CAR retro. For the plastic, I would say that my favorite so far is the Magpul MOE SL-M. It is super small and super light. Although it does have a negative if you ask me. It is lacking a good sling hookup. Although you can buy the Magpul M-lok sling swivel mount. Fixes the problem. I just wish that Magpul would include it with the stock.
