"A group of conservative House lawmakers on Wednesday introduced articles of impeachment against Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein, the top Department of Justice (DOJ) official overseeing special counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation.

"The introduction of the resolution is the latest sign of escalating efforts among conservatives to oust the DOJ’s No. 2 official.

"Conservative members led by Reps. Mark Meadows (R-N.C.) and Jim Jordan (R-Ohio), along with nine co-sponsors, introduced the articles shortly after a meeting with DOJ officials concerning document production."

And what exactly is this impeachment other than rubbing the dogs nose in the carpet where he pissed?
Who is going to bring out the "shotty"?
And once out , do what with it?

He wont go to jail, get charged with a crime, or anything that makes him lose a wink of sleep

They will stand up in chambers yelling about like Foghorn Leghorn and that's all

Impeachment isn't about making someone go to jail. Impeachment is a means of beginning the process of firing that person. If that person is impeached, and then tried in the Senate, and convicted, then that someone loses their job. It's not about sending someone to jail--it's about getting a person out of a job who won't do the job.

As to the shotty, I can't help it if you don't enjoy a decent metaphor.

I agree!!!!!!!! Until Hillary is OUT OF POWER (Not running or loses) the deep state will rule out of fear from the Clintons. (too much money/power)

It seems everyone has something on everybody else and nobody wants to be exposed.

    Doubt it will come about.
As long as it results in DOJ giving up the goods, then it's all good, right? The DOJ has NO right to stonewall requests from Congress. The folks on the oversight committees have the same security clearances as the top intel/LE folks do and have the right to conduct their oversight role. If R.Rosenstein doesn't like it, he can suck eggs.

THIS is how Congress plays hardball when it must.

Another stir of the pot. I'll take it. All of that sturring will add up and hopefully right after the mid-terms shit will get real.

    That's my optimistic view.

Conservatives NEED to get out and vote or else any chance at holding feet to the fire will be lost. We need eight years (at least) of cleaning up the swamp and getting rid of the Clinton protectorate deeply-entrenched in federal bureaucracy.

    In Washington you get impeached
In the rest of the world you just get your ass fired
Well, it's a question of who does the firing. The POTUS has the power and authority to fire him. However, the Congress merely has the power to impeach, convict, and thus shitcan the douche. So yeah--that's the system of checks and balances.

Completely agree that if it results in DOJ releasing the requested info to Congress, then it met its intended purpose.

It will not go through fruition, however, because it will never get enough Senate votes (would require Dem's to cross over).
