I recovered a Sig Sauer P250 40 S&W yesterday, reported by the Colorado Springs, Colorado P D. It was pawned by a local citizen, he is not a suspect as he has paperwork documenting he purchased at another pawn shop.

After I got a copy of the offense report from Colorado Springs, I obtained a court order to allow me to seize the gun. Before I logged it into property/evidence I checked it over and found it a bit muzzle heavy and top heavy for my taste. There was another investigator there and he was of the same opinion. Now this was with the gun unloaded and the weight ay be a positive factor when shooting.

Not wanting to hate on anyone, first impression, not for me.

I had a 250 for a while and while it shot well I also found it muzzle heavy. Just have my 226 which I've always loved.

It's an inexpensive, entry level weapon.

Makes a great truck gun. I have a 9mm version in my console.

Terrible pistol. One of the worst in my opinion.

I don't know how you came to that conclusion. If you are looking for something cheap, reliable, durable with a smooth revolver-like dao trigger that can be completely disassembled in less than a few minutes, change calibers or frames in less than a minute, then you have found the right gun. Perfect pistol, I must say for nasty, wet environments, sweat, truck, traveling etc. It is what it is, but it is not the "worst" of anything, nor is it the same as a Glock, custom 1911, or my beloved German Sig.

While it is a bit muzzle heavy the trigger is very smooth. It's long but smooth. Got one in the compact 9mm version and my wife liked it so much she took it from me.

Sig thought they could get over on the U.S. "stupid" gun owner market. They sold a bunch of those. I will out right call it an "Academy" special.

Meh like I've said before I have two and love them, is it the end all be all? Not by a long shot, is it reliable? Mine have been 100%, everyone has different likes, wants, and needs which is why the market is so big. Got my first one (full size) in a trade because my buddy didn't like the trigger, later ordered the sub compact caliber exchange kit and liked shooting them both so tracked down a separate FCU and made them two stand alone guns. I agree the platform is a little gimmicky but it does have a pretty good following. I've heard a lot of trash talked on them but I'd trust my life to either, the subcompact is actually my EDC.

It doesn't seem to me to be any more cheaply made than a Glock, PPQ, XD, M&P (all sold at Academy too). Not saying better or better trigger but it is a thing in itself and I don't think most people have quite figured it out yet. The design is so simple it's stupid, and it just works. How is Sig trying to con the U.S. gun market? Sig seems to make every attempt to try to please the American market. With the internet, what major high-end firearms producer would be so stupid as to fool the largest segment of civilian gun owners in the free world with a piece of crap? I've never had reliability problems with any Sig, even the p250. I guess you have to do another Glock rip off to get respect these days.
