I could go along with the ideas that they register and are therefore protected from deportation unless they commit anything beyond a traffic offense. ABSOLUTELY no path to citizenship unless they self deport and enter legally. No citizenship, no voting, no tax benefits, including state sponsored benefits aside from education for kids and unemployment after having worked and paid taxes for 12 mo.

This in return for a giant wall and a doubling of the BP patrol personnel, not the paper pushers in DC, but the guys rounding folks up.

    busykngt,

As I've said elsewhere, we NEED to abolish all but TWO federal LE agencies.
(We need 80+ LE agencies, each having their own HUGE/WASTEFUL bureaucracy, like we all need a malignant tumor.)
Isuggest that those 2 remaining LE agencies be the USPIS & the USMS.

I suggest that all of the GOOD/dedicated agents be absorbed by the 2 new LED agencies & the drones/wastrals/crooks be FIRED & denied re-employment with any federal agency.

    yours, satx

    diesel1958,

I'll add yet another proviso: That the "Dreamers" must enter & serve honorably in the Armed Forces and/or enter/complete a recognized apprenticeship or a college program leading to a JOB.

    Texas, ya'll
I could go along with that. But only with 4 other restrictions.
Only one of the parents gets to stay and only until the kid is 18.
The parent must be gainfully employed with no criminal record.
The child can have no criminal record class B midomeanor or higher and must be able to graduate high school.
Absolutely NO WELFARE. Of any kind.

Need to repeal the 14th Amendment so that any kids that they spit out while here won't qualify to be US citizens.
