Fox News is announcing that GM will sell its hummer division to a Chinese company.
is that even a surprise?
I will never buy a new hummer. Only the old Humvee style. But selling them to the Asian market. :mad0071:
It's tentative at this point. There is also a rumor that Ron Perelman, majority stakeholder of AM General (creator of the H1...and H2 as a concept) is in the running.
I think that's been out there hanging in the wind for a while. The Chinese are likely going to be buying a good portion of auto makers on the block.
great. we know how good quality the Chinese are with there vehicles.. yeah right. Their tanks are good for 50 shots before a new barrel is needed...
What I haven't heard mentioned yet is whether the Chinese firm (or AM General for that matter) will keep the production jobs in North America, or whether they'll move production back home.
I'm still less than excited about the news, but then I was never in the market to buy a Hummer anyway.
Who really cares? Hummer builds a POS anyhow. H1 and the real HMMWV is only think worth anything. AM will continue building the HMMWV's
20 seconds to 60? 10 MPG? Needs 200 feet to stop from 60 MPH?
Who was buying these pieces of crap in the first place? Let China have 'em.
