Gun Manufacturer Moving To SC Due To Conn. Gun Control Laws
Did a search and didn't see this posted anywhere else on the board (if it has then I need to further refine my searches).
It's a smaller company and a small step but it IS a step. But unfortunately, as noted in the article, some of the manufacturers have been there for a couple hundred years so they have a history at their current locations. Plus, it's NOT that easy to just pack up and move a large manufacturing facility. The costs, not to mention losing an experienced workforce, are prohibitive. In the end, it WILL come down to the "bottom line" in company profits. If the state's laws end up curtailing that to an extended degree, then those older companies might just be forced to move due to economic reasons.

BRISTOL, Conn. (AP) — Less than a week after Connecticut Gov. Dannel P. Malloy signed gun restrictions into law in April, gun manufacturer PTR Industries said it intended to leave the state to avoid the damage it expected to be inflicted on its business.
On Wednesday, the rifle manufacturer kept its promise, announcing it will move to Aynor, S.C.
“One hundred percent of our product line is now illegal in Connecticut due to that law,” said John McNamara, the company’s vice president for sales
