Wow, that guy needs to get his facts straight.

"A total of 7 states prohibit openly carrying handguns: New York, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Arkansas, Texas, Illinois and Florida.
    "

Really didn't get the point of the article, dust seem to relate much to Davis.

I don't think I need to read past the first sentence:

People across the Valley are sounding off Wendy Davis recent claim that she supports the open carry of handguns in public, a law currently banned in Texas.

English, journalist! Do! You! Speak! It!?

    Apparently not...

ETA: OMFG, I got so wrapped up in the "law currently banned" part that I totally missed "sounding off Wendy Davis recent claim." I think she needs to hire me as an editor. I may not be very smart and I lack her college education, but my grammar's usually pretty solid.

The "douchebag" owner of a "training facility"/gun range pushing for "mandatory training" . Do you think his vested interest might be showing a little ? . If I shot at his range he would have lost a customer for life.

Sounds like Mr. Alcede of Tactical Firearms in Katy, to be honesty. Mr. "I'll host Piers Morgan because I'm an esspert and there's no way that letting him shoot legit machine guns while pointing out how totally legal they are could backfire EVAR!"

In other words, a gun store owner with the huge ego and tiny IQ (and probably tiny penis to match).

Didn't realize you could ban laws....or sound off politicians. Very interesting info here.

Edit: wait I can think of one example. I guess the 18th was banned with the 21st. Other than that I'm stumped.

    Don't ask...don't tell....

It simply fascinates me that on a board where the predominant view is negative towards homosexuality that the first derisive comment actually involves homosexual imaginations... and the needed actions to transfer those mental images into text in a forum.

I don't care if people agree, disagree or don't care about a given person's sexual choices.

I do, however, see every derisive crack as an easy opening for the left to make assertions about "closets" and "phobias" that are otherwise completely irrelevant to the topic at hand: open carry and an interesting position where both party candidates seem to support it.

My real ask to the group: given the two, which candidate do you think MORE likely to use Open Carry as a bargaining chip for something even more offensive from the left's arsenal... an offer-in-compromise, so the speak? I personally don't trust Davis at all and believe she'd find some reason Open Carry wasn't palatable once elected.

Patterson, on the other hand? I know where he stands. Dewhurst? Not so much, which is unsettling because it's likely to be him and /someone/ in a runoff, and then the real campaigning will begin.

Who cares what the left says. It isn't like there are enough productive citizens left to vote out the resistributers. They have full control until the next civil war. I'm not gonna walk on egg shells to appease them.

She's trying to get all warm and cozy with the massive amount of gun owners and 2A supporters in the state to get elected. I for one don't believe a word of what she says.

I believe this was her attempt to get some of the less educated on the subject voters on board by claiming she is for open carry. Like it was pointed out previously, her voting record tells the truth and I certainly hope she is not elected.

Personally, I hope that open carry is passed after the election cycle - as for w/ or w/out a permit is up for dabate. From a constitutional viewpoint it should be open and unrestricted, however since permits are required to carry concealed, I would like to see the allowance for permitted individuals to carry openly or concealed. I know I would love to use an OTW holster without the worry about my barrel hanging out.
