    Gun Background Check Questionnaire

Hey guys, this is the questionnaire for the debate I'm having. Please keep in mind that I did not write these questions, as it was a job of another person in the debate. My professor just required me and the others in my group to ask the questions to 20 people each, so please ignore any mistakes. I also apologize in advance for the quite personal questions (all of which were the only required ones from our professor).

I must have 20 of these complete by Tuesday, so you guys doing them would be a life saver. Please try and be honest so we can collect correct data.

Posting answers in the following format would make it easiest for me:

As for the question at the end, I bought my first firearm because I wished to own one. I need no further justification.

Optional question......to exercise my God given right. To provide food. To protect my family. To protect myself. To protect the innocent. To protect the weak. To protect my property. To protect even the ignorant individuals that wish to take my gun because they don't know shit about guns and even less about human nature.

    Optional: Recreation and self defense.

Mass shootings tend to be committed by the mentally unstable, a person with a political agenda or both. Criminal background checks are unlikely to stop these types of people from obtaining weapons. Gun control laws tend to go after weapons of the AR or AK type. The Navy yard shooter used a shotgun as recommended by Joe Biden.

Optional: Depends on that specific gun. The short answer is because I feel the need to own it whether it is for a practical reason or just pure joy of ownership.

Edited Question 3 to add Hispanic. Funny, the girl that created this questionnaire is Hispanic and forgot to add her own race.

Optional: Sport, collecting, self defense; none of them have to be mutually exclusive, either.

Note/clarification on 6: NICS flags felons, etc. pretty well, I guess. But too many innocent people get tagged with holds and sometimes denials. The reason I gave it a "no" vote wasn't because of its efficacy at stopping prohibited people from buying guns at gun stores (overall, it's worthless since they have so many other avenues to buy guns... but that's a different point ;) ), but because it wrongly snares innocent people who aren't prohibited persons from time to time. It's also pretty pointless to deny prohibited persons at the gun counter when there are no repercussions other than they have to buy a black market gun. Overall conclusion - NICS is a total waste of money.

1)Personal enjoyment of target shooting, 2) personal and property protection. The police do not prevent crime, just investigate the crime that has happened.
