    Anyone else considered this or another variation?
    I've considered building a false wall with a gun rack behind it. Won't protect against fire damage, but if they can't find your guns then they can't take them. If you do this, it might not be a bad idea to have a cheap "bait safe" and just keep a few inexpensive items in there. That way you can let them think they got all your good stuff when they force the safe open, but in reality the best stuff is still hidden.

    a buddy of mine built a safe room in the middle of the house he had guns ,food ,ect.i don't rememmber him having issuse with it i need to call him to see what he did?

    Ah....therein lies the rub. You can have 2 of the three:

    1. Price

    2. Quality of workmanship (including fit & finish)

    3. Strength

    I've built my own safe before - ended up giving it to a friend when I bought a "store-made" one. It's had 2 break-in attempts, neither of which succeeded. Uglier'n the fat girl that used to put out in high school, but tougher than it needed to be....

    Some of you are aware of what's in my collection - replacing it would be almost impossible, and VERY expensive. So it makes sense to protect it accordingly, to me.
