    (B)Subparagraph (A) does not apply to the possession of a firearm—
    (i) on private property not part of school grounds;
    (ii) if the individual possessing the firearm is licensed to do so by the State ....

    Texas only provides license for the handgun, a rifle is not licensed. Thus you are not "licensed to do so".

    Ya, I did get that far on my own just now. I need to look back at TX law though just to check.

    I don't believe knowing the result equates to being the same as the intended result.

    For example: I live in a condo in the Dallas area and and my car breaks down on my way home from the range. I am pretty sure someone will be alarmed but choose to go ahead and walk the last mile to the house and carry my rifle slung on my back because I don't want it to be stolen.

    Yes, it will probably alarm someone, the action. Itself was not calculated to cause alarm.

    If your "calculated" equates to "intention". Knowing one result does not mean that is the intended result.

    This line of thought is interesting....

    Might not have been the best way to word it.

    How bout an example. You put a new brake on your 300 win mag and go to the range to sight it in. You know it will probably aggravate a few people on the line due to the muzzle blast and noise but you need to sight it for an upcoming hunt and make sure POI didn't shift.

    Does that mean that the action was calculated to aggravate those people simply because you knew it would be a likely result?
