Looking for a gunsmith with a .257 Weatherby gauge.
Need to screw on a barrel, then check the head space.
    In the Magnolia, Houston area.
Thanks in advance for any information.

Barring thatr, take three FACTORY .257 Weatherby rounds and use them as your go gauge.

Once you're set, put a layer of scotch tape over the case head and try chambering the rounds again. The bot should not close.

Have you checked with Iron Curtain Customs? I believe they are in Spring.

Any recommendations in West Houston? I got a second hand Remington R1 1911, and I’m having problems moving the front sight to center. The PO had it moved all the way to one side presumably to correct his aim, and I cannot for the life of me get it to budge. It’s a dove tail sight, and it must be glued in or something. Tried a brass punch, no dice. Tried my sight pusher, no dice. That booger just will not budge

Have you heated it up? There may be some loctite smeared in there. Hairdryer should work.
Thanks for the suggestion. I heated up with a heat gun on low setting, and it did the trick. Only problem is my brass punches bent and therefore slipped and left some brass tracks. Copper brush and oil works with light surface rust older blued guns without destroying the finish. I guess I’ll try it on the brass marks and hope for the best

The copper brush and oil worked. Scratches came right off
