It’s gonna be danged hard to find an inexpensive H&R Sportsman 999. Those things have really gained value the last few years. Mine has sentimental value so is priceless to me. But looking around if you wanted to buy it- it’d set you back about 450.00.
I was out and about and missed an $82 auction this week... bummer, eh?

Holy cow! For a 999? I wonder if it worked or if it was a rust bucket? Mines a 1973 and about 80%.

    This 900 sold for $88.55: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/968291498

And I'm more looking for a shorter barrel like that than a 999.
Yep - that's not this for sure.

    Here
Looking to see if I can find a cheap older H&R or High Standard or similar 9-shot 22LR revolver...

    Something like this maybe: https://www.gunbroker.com/item/968291498

Can driver within reasonable distance of any of the locations in the thread title.
You may want to check out this High Standard Sentinel that is listed on Texas Gun Trader.

I would have bought it if it was a little closer to me. I don't remember now where the gun is located, think it may have been around north Dallas.

If it doesn't have to be 9 shot and can be single action, Heritage makes a 2" "barkeep" .22 revolver. They even sell cylinders for .22WMR if you want versatility. Would those work for you?

The H&R Sportsman 999 is a classic. I regret selling one way back there. Here's a reproduction of an add from a NRA magazine from 1970. In my opinion (which is worth next to nothing) the 999 is one of the finest .22 revolvers made. I'm looking for one too.
