While you're celebrating this day off, remember the men and women who fought and died so we can live in this great country. This is, in fact, Independence Day. Freedom isn't something we grabbed and then it was smooth sailing. America has had to fight every step of the way for the past two centuries to retain our way of life.

So, among the barbeque, the watermelon, the beer and the fireworks, take a moment to remember what this day is all about.

And please, don't celebrate by shooting your firearm into the air, especially in a populated area; it's not the sort of image we should project.

It's also illegal, and many cities are able to accurately locate gunfire by triangulation; you may spend a bit of time & money in court (and jail, maybe) for violation of one or more City ordinances.
