A SA Ruger 22lr was my first handgun.
This Single Six was my first wheel gun. Bought it new at the old Petmecky's Sporting Goods store on Congress Avenue (Austin) in 1959. It still locks up tight & shoots straight, although all the finish is worn off the grip frame.

Love those 3 screw Blackhawks guys. I sure hope that y’all didn’t ruin them with the safety bar conversions.
Yeah, I know that they can be converted back. But most guys have lost the original parts, meaning a good chunk of change is required to bring them back.

There is just something about that those 4 C-L-I-K s of a single action - it’s right up there with smell of Hoppes number 9!

I still reminisce about passing on 4 5/8 357 in 1969 at the grocery store. I was just 14 and Mom was going to sign for it. But being a kid, I just just couldn’t afford to feed it, so I got a the 22 Mark 1 pistol instead.
    I still kick myself!

Both my old 3 Screw SAs are unconverted and never will be as long as I own them. Kids won't mutilate them either.

Bought this New Vaquero last year to satisfy that itch:
