The law enacted on a bipartisan basis in 2019 allows law enforcement to petition the court to seize guns or other weapons if a medical professional determines that a person with a mental health condition poses a significant threat to themselves or others.

Says that LE would be allowed to petition the court to seize guns or other weapons.

So please explain how you determine that LE is or would be seizing weapons without going to court?

Thank you for clarification.

Clarification is very much needed. OP stated something that was incorrect either out of ill-intent to spread doom and gloom and to incite fear in gun owners, or out of pure ignorance. Either is dangerous to law abiding gun owners.

I am not a fan of any red flag laws simply because they put too much power into the hands of few, who can turn on a law abiding gun owner because of fear that they own guns, so therefor they must be a danger to society and the community. The same can be said for a yellow flag laws as well. LE as a group are representative more of the government than the people, and such laws could allow them to exercise more power than they should have in regards to our gun rights.

But we can't realistically defend ourselves to these laws with incorrect information being spread. We need to counter with truth and facts.

OP is Chicken Little personality going around yelling to everyone, "The sky is falling, The sky is falling!" trying to gin up fear for our gun rights by spreading misinformation and misleading information or outright lies.

Read his opening post in this thread and read the articles he linked, and draw your own conclusions about his statements.
