18 to own a rifle or handgun.

Must be 21 to purchase a handgun or 18 for a rifle from an FFL.

Nothing in Texas law other than not being a minor in possession of a firearm.

Stores like Acadamy sometimes places in house rules on who they sell to.

As a general rule I tend to stay away from Academy for firearms-related things. Nothing to do with store policy or anything, just prefer to go to other places.

we take an above and beyond the law standing when it comes to particular firearms simply because as a very vocal pro firearms rights voice, Mr Carter has been an easy target for those opposing those all important rights. Frankly this way no way can even think of using modern sporting rifles and the fact we sell & love them against us in any way.

18 y/o for a rifle or shotgun. Not state law -- Federal dictate.

Firearms sales ought to be left to the States. Nothing in the Constitution gives the Federal Government the power to regulate gun sales within the States.

    10th Amendment + 2nd Amendment.

FIFY. Bare receivers are not rifles or shotguns, and if it doesn't have a stock on it (like a Mossberg Cruiser), it's not technically a rifle or shotgun under Federal law, so a person would have to be 21 to buy it from an FFL.

Carter won't see a dime of my money.

As for anyone who makes up rules that are stricter than state and local laws they are part of the problem and perception condemning gun owner rights .

After your previous experience with Carter's that you posted about, why in the hell are you even looking at an ad of theirs?

So it's Carter's official stance that certain rifles are too dangerous to sell to people under 21? Or is it your official stance that people under 21, including I'm sure a lot of military personnel since this is San Antonio, are too stupid or immature to be trusted with certain classes of firearms?

Interesting that Mr. Carter's "pro gun" stance matches Bloonlmberg's anti gun stance.

Sorry, but even though the age restriction doesn't affect me, Carter's won't see a dime from me.
