just wondering what i could/should do to keep my fields producting good hay this spring. Its pretty sandy up here and we have ?costal? hay from what ive been told. My co-worker bayles hay and told me he'd cutt it for me for my cows but wondering what i should do to keep the weeds from taking over. i dont have a tractor yet so ill have to rent one for the day so i need to make my day worth it.
Looking into Putting some lime down and maybe buying a 50 lb bag of seed for it but want to make sure im putting my money where it should be.

Call your local ag cooperative and get as much info as you can. Your extension agent is also a valuable resource.

They can help you test your soil and determine what, if any, amendments you should apply.

Samples of any weeds you find in your fields can also help them prescribe treatment plans.
