I've never open-carried like THAT! (Nobody'd notice anyway).
I have to slow down and stop my shitty spelling. I’m not making a good case for myself. Oh well. Ruined it. I was like gd, pay attention **** face. Lol

Open carry invites trouble. I like concealed in public. Society is best off if one has to always guess as to who may packing.
The El Paso shooter said he chose a gun free zone so he could hurt a lot of people with resistance. He would probably not have hurt all those people if when he cased the joint their were a bunch of armed people in plain sight. That would have been better for society.

^^^Open carry invites other women to notice that I’m not afraid to bear the tools needed to defend myself and mine, and encourages them to become interested in taking that step too ,and ask me about where I practice refining my shooting skills.

At least that’s what has happened so far.
A few days after the latest mass shooting, my wife (not a gun enthusiast) was eating at a restaurant with our children and noticed a couple open carrying who she said "did not look like cops". She said she was comforted knowing their were armed people around her.

So many people are scared when they just see a firearm. The more people who learn not to equate a firearm with a mass shooting the better.

I understand the strategy of 'getting the drop' on a bad guy. Many, if not all of these bad guys are damn cowards.

It does invite trouble, but it has no deterrent effect. Employees at a gun store openly carrying? Never robbed, despite the huge profit potential. Employees at convenience store never open carry? Robbed weekly.

Has it been determined for sure whether this Wal-Mart was posted? They aren't usually, is this one different?

I would like to see that answered also. I haven't seen any 30.06 or 30.07 at Walmart in Texas. I have seen 30.07 signs posted on HEBs.

Posted? You missed the point. The shooter cased the store before hurting people. The shooter wrote in his manifesto that unarmed people are preferred to maximize casualties.

I thought he popped in at random cause he was hungry?
I think that's what the reporter for CNN said. Randomly drove to El Paso to hurt immigrants. Randomly got something to eat while he randomly saw there was no one who might want to kill him randomly hurt people and randomly surrendered safe and sound.

Given the number of Mexican nationals that shop there I’d say it would dilute the numbers of people who could carry inside the store and thus making HB 357 less of a factor if it was passed.
I think you are right. Not seeing any armed people lead to his decision to make that place his target.

I think that's what the reporter for CNN said.

"As soon as he got here, he was lost in the neighborhood. After that, he found his way to the Walmart because we understand he was hungry," El Paso Police Chief Greg Allen said.

Yep completely random. The killer told the cheif it was random and not premeditated.

His manifesto says that he hated large corporations (like walmart) and he was afraid one group of people would disproportionately extract from his beloved social programs.

So like Stalin, Mao, Hitler, the socialist tried to kill those who were a threat to his social programs.

The guy is a coward. He probably thought a bunch of day workers was too threatening. But no doubt he was trying to escalate tensions at the border.
