I had a landowner that was letting us hog hunt on just one of his places. Maybe he was being cautious to see how we would do - I don't know, but he called and said he had problems on two more of his places and would we be interested helping out on them? Well, my partner wasn't available, so I checked them out. Hogs. Lots of hogs, and hogs that have not been hunted too much...

And this was the field next to his residence...

Sunday night, I returned to the first property, the other one and my normal properties being too far north and involved in a heck of a thunderstorm with lots of lightning. This time, I hunted with digital night vision, something I had not done in years.

Digital NV isn't harmed by direct light. So daytime use isn't a concern. it still works best with a hole in the lens cap in bright light, but no damage will occur. Also, it can work in dusk conditions (lens cap fully open as in the start of the video above that had the geese) and no damage will occur. Digital NV is not comparable to Gen III, however. It is probably more like Gen II, which means you are still going to need an illuminator much of the time after dark unless you have brighter conditions such as with a good moon. When I hunted with Gen I nv, and earlier digital NV (2013/2014), I needed an illuminator any time at night.

Crazy stuff that stone baby...thanks for such detail!

Also, loved the added touch of the Russian music...wonder how many people didn't catch that innuendo. LOL
