The onwers of my company has a 2500 acre family ranch and I'm headed there for a hunt.
This is my 4th time to get invited and I can't wait.
The place is huge..and crawling with everything from javelina, wild pigs, white tail and all sorts of varmint
    Everything is on the menu

1st goal is to get meat. So I will get busy dropping doe 1st day.
I'm not much of a rack hunter these days, it would take a 160 class or more to make me think about it.

    I'm taking 2 bolt guns, both Savage 111 & 116
Plus that Smoth 686 with the Vortex
I really want to take a close range whitetail with that!

    Pics will follow..

    Thanks
I intend to. I'm playing host with a co-worker so I've got some light cooking duties and other things like getting the other hunters up and out the door
The ranch manager does everything else.
But I'll get to hunt with everyone else and thats the big benefit
The place is like Mutual of Omaha Wild Kingdom..lol

    Whew..just drove back in tonight
    6 & 1/2 hrs ..damn..

I'm sorry guys for not updating but Verizon signal was almost nothing there
The only time I had any reliable service while there basically was when I started my truck and used the wifi

I have been staying up till 10 and up.at 4 the last 3 days and I'm beat

I will make a complete update in the morning but I'll say that Jim Hogg county did not disappoint!

I spent Tuesday night in Pleasanton and got groceries that night so I could roll out early Wed.
Me and another guy were hosting 6 hunters
Our duties were meals, snacks, and getting everyone up and out the door when the ranch employees came to take them to the stands
This was at 530 am and as early as 230 pm
    Depending on what everyone wanted
    It's a 5000 acre place with 12 stands
So far apart you can shoot and the guy in the closest stand may not hear your report.

It was warm...way too warm for me and humid
I hate hunting in Damm near 80 degrees..
Morning hunts maybe a long sleeve or really light jacket
Wed afternoon I got so warm I shed my shirt totally..lol
