I walked into my local gunshop earlier this week and found a used Colt Enhanced Officer's ACP. After a call to Colt I found that the pistol was manufactured in 1994, and the blueing is excellent condition. About the only thing I'd change on it is the nylon triger and install a reverse plug. I was able to talk the shop down to $575. However, I'm concerned that the pistol is in such condition because it has a serious problem. Also I currently own a full size Govt Model (Model O1091).

On the other hand, they also have a NIB SIG 522 and I've been looking for a .22 for sometime and it's $499, minus optic of course. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

I have a 70's era Model 70 I gave $500 for late last year. Looks like it came from the factory. Shoots like a champ, no issues. Guy that sold it had put less than 300 rounds through it, and just didn't shoot it.

As you can guess, I went with the pony gun (pics to follow). I have yet to shoot it, but as the first M1911A1 I've owned (but not shot), with a undercut trigger guard and beaver-tail grip safety I am already enamored with this gun. After stripping it down when I got home, the OACP was well care for by the previous owner and certainly shot a bit (but again, not abused). My previous concerns about this gun are significantly less now, but I will hold off judgement till I head to the range.

The Academy here in College Station does not have the SIG 522, only the 556, and I got burned on the last gun purchase I made from them, also a .22LR. The only other new production .22LR I'm seriously looking at is the CZ-452/455 American, which unless I can find a better deal than Bud's online, I may do eventually.

Thank yall for the advice, it was greatly appreciated.
