    My dad and I have been buying up Marlin lever guns and he just came across a new one for both of us.

    Marlin 1893 - Serial # 2024 Caliber 30-30

    We were told by owner that they understood it to be manufactured in 1893.

    Anyone have a knowledge on the 1893’s? I will also reach out to Marlin this week. Really a neat gun and a fun find. Still in shooting condition, but I’d like to know more before I put any rounds in it.

    It says Model 93 instead of 1893, so the earliest it could be is 1905. They started putting the Serial Number on the tang in 1921. Does the barrel say Marlin Firearms Company or Corporation? That will tell you which side of 1924 it was made. This link should provide some help:
