On December 11, 2013, a 700 HP Hennessey C7 became the first 2014 Corvette Stingray to break the 200 mph barrier by reaching a maximum speed of 200.6 mph. This was achieved on a closed section of the Grand Parkway which connects I-10 to Hwy. 290 on the west side of Houston, Texas. Officials from TxDOT, Texas DPS and TransCore were on hand to witness the testing of the EZ tag toll system. Special thanks to TxDOT Chairman, Ted Houghton.

The Hennessey C7 Corvette was equipped with the company's HPE600 upgrade with the addition of a 100 HP Nitrous Express kit.

Looks like he hits the Nitros about 150 mph...................

And is on the juice a LONG time.

It's kind of cool that Texas LE worked with Hennessey.

This isn't the first time Hennessy has used Texas toll roads. There are other vehicles he's tested also. He did it on the 85 mph toll road in Austin with a Cadillac last year.

Corvette is by far my favorite model of car and racing team. Not a huge fan of Hennessy though. I was really worried the c7 was gonna be a bust, but so far it's been great and I'm really looking forward to the unveiling of the z06/z07 here in a few days at the Detroit auto show.

Racing at TWS once and a herd of deer ran across the back stretch.
No one hit the deer or each other dodging them.
But it's triple digits back there and it would have been ugly.

I can't believe Hennessey is still in business. His past business practices have been "questionable".

A few years ago, I decided I wanted a C5. Then I noticed everyone who drove one had blue hair.
    So I bought a CTS-V.

Been eyeballing a V pretty heavily, but trying to be responsible ;) The Cadillac event (V-series lab) they did out at Circuit of the Americas was an absolute BLAST.

    Wasn't it a souped-up CTS-V that did 220.5 on SH-130 last year?
