Now $15 (was $10) for only rifle or only pistol. 50% increase.

Pistol and rifle (regardless of paper only, which used to be $15, or steel) is now $25. Nearly doubled.

I hope this does not drive folks to other ranges, but I am afraid it probably will. Must admit it will change my habits.

Heck no! These folks think we're made of money? Ammo, the firearm itself, gas and every other life expense. Thank goodness I'm not going out there any time soon

No membership fee and $15 all day (per range)? High but not far off the price as many ranges in smaller areas. Head into a large metro area and those places are cost prohibitive. Granted I'm cheap and use a small pistol range nearby that is donation only and I usually donate $10 per visit.

Isn't that what they were charging last time we were there?

I don't mind paying $25 for rifle, pistol, and steel. But I won't pay $25 for unmaintained berms, wore out target stands, unkept lanes, and broken steel targets.

$25 for pistol and rifle is just too steep. If I go back, I will not be shooting both in the same visit.

As of a couple of weeks ago:

$10 pistol paper or rifle paper alone.
    $15 rifle & pistol paper.
    More for steel (maybe $20?).

So the change has been recent.

I won't be going back there. Not for those kind of prices. Not to mention what YG stated. For that fact, if I add another 15-20 minutes to the trip, I could be at Texas Star instead. Which, in my opinion, is one HELLUVA lot nicer range.

2 years ago, it was $10 got you everything. Last year, it was raised to $15. This year, its $25.

Just noting the trend I've seen. I'm not sure if surrounding ranges have been doing the same.

    Exactly.

$25 for everything isn't bad but the lack of upkeep is a deal breaker.

I agree on the price, havent been there but if its kept up and you dont get rushed off then 25 is not a bad deal.

    The problem is the upkeep.

When we held our big meets there we expressed safety concerns that having large groups amplified.

The Hicks started to address them but then stopped, to the point of big piles of dirt stockpiled but never added to the berms.

At our last meet the grass wasn't mowed, berms issues still weren't addressed, and their herd of dogs were still running free. That didn't keep them from raising the price back then though.

    Lol

I do most of my shooting at the house where the target stands are wore out and the steel is in bad shape. But it's convenient so I let it slide :)

Yeah because they charge you by the hour up here.. I've been to most of the gun ranges in the Central and South Fort Worth area. Alpine doesn't charge you by the hour, but they are strict, you can't even shoot FMJ (seriously) ammo at their range or steel cases. All the other ranges are by the hour most frown on steel cases and they're all indoors. These people down in central and south texas don't know how good they have it.
