I've used them for years. And my father, sister's husband and father-in-law all used them on 1911's in 'their' wars. Never thought about this until yesterday, but... now I wonder if it qualifies as legal for concealed carry here in TX? Since I read I'm 'supposed' to carry in a holster. Just...
One item a "hip grip" needs is a red dot laser built into the grip that hangs on the outside of ones belt or pocket. I carry a hip grip quite a bit on my S&W 357 snub nose. I don't worry about the trigger mainly because it has a 12 lb. plus double action only trigger!
As you probably know by now if it’s open carry it needs a holster and if it’s concealed you can legally carry any way that you want. Legal does not imply safe. Had to look up hip-grip, a first for me.
