Thought I'd share this. The folks at White Oak Armament and Holub Machine make an ocular buddy specifically for service rifle scopes. They are intended to enhance scoring by forcing you to line up your eye square with the focal planes, thus achieving consistent and proper cheek weld every time. also the eye wants to center in the circle naturally.
All I know is that it works. This "homemade ocular buddy is simply a paper hole reinforcement, or "paper butthole". stuck on the center of the ocular lens of the scope.
This is a 30-odd year old Leupold scope mounted on a CZ 452 Super BRNO UL. 5 Shot group @50 YDS. I was impressed.
