I am looking for a place that can refinish my M16 receiver. The finish is in sad shape. There are plenty of anodizers around but it presents a problem being an NFA item.

Recommendations? I want the work to be right as we are talking about an expensive piece of aluminum here.

Prefer hard-coat anodizing but will consider other finishes if they are durable.

    Thanks in advance!

Surface Technology(or Techniques) in Spring Branch is very accommodating, the shop foreman has no qualms about doing gun parts, but I did not ask about NFA , as I dont have any. Interested to know if they will do it. I guess there is a requirement of proper custody of an NFA part?

I am a class 3 dealer & Gunsmith in Buda just south of Austin. I can do cerakote on it for you if you are interested; I would also recommend installing KNS anti rotation pins and also the anti rotation pin for the sear.
