AR15 from the drivers seat? Umm, that's slow into action to the point of a liability in said situation.

    IMHO OFCOURSE.

AR pistol, 10.5" or shorter, not too hard to deploy seated in the driver seat if said pistol is tucked between the seat and center console. Of course most (or no) people won't be rolling around like that. Better solution would be avoiding the area, or unassing it as soon as you realize something funky is going down. Stupidity like "street takeovers" is why I loathe large cities and tend to steer clear of them whenever possible.

    Gunz are icky.
Shooting out the drivers window would be real stupid.

1.) You not going to be hitting the azzhole that fired at you.
The shooter was a cowardly little fvck that shot from behind.

2.)You'd be hitting people just standing there beside the car. Innocent people that probably didn't do anything to you.
So your happy azz will go to jail for at least attempted murder.

My question is "where were the police?"
I am sure this event takes a few minutes to organize. Then you have the cars "smoking" around in the intersection. Onlookers partying and raising a ruckus. Traffic being blocked on the adjacent streets. People calling 911.
We have the same problem here in Dallas. Takes the cops a long time to get people to the scene and shut things down.
I did crazy things with my cars during my younger years. I was part of a group that dragged raced each Friday night. At least we had the good sense to go out into the rural areas where only our lives were at risk. Attached is my '69 Camaro. Started out as a factory SS 396.
The previous owner had replaced the stock 396 with an L88 427. After some other upgrades it dynoed at a little over 800 hp. Got 5 MPG in town. Gas was cheap back in 1970.
