Where did you hear that? On the internet? Until there is a law against it, it's not illegal. I can find no laws against shipping auto blades. We need an actual legal reference to the law, if there is one.

This I got from the benchmade website, and they reference actual law. Interpret the way you like.

    FEDERAL CODES-
18 USC 1716 (G) (2) (1-4) provides this summary: Switchblade knives can be shipped to civilian and armed forces supply or procurement officers and employees of the Federal government ordering or procuring or purchasing such knives in connection with activities in the Federal government; to supply or procurement officers in the National Guard, the Air National Guard or militia of the state or territory of the District of Columbia ordering, procuring or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of such organizations; to supply or procurement officers or employees of the municipal government of the District of Columbia or the government of any state or territory of any county, city, or other political subdivision of a state or territory ordering, procuring or purchasing such knives in connection with the activities of such government.
15 USC 1244 provides in summary: Knives can be shipped by common carrier, that sale, transportation or distribution, possession or introduction into interstate commerce of switchblade knives is authorized if it is pursuant to a contract with the armed forces or any member or employee thereof acting in the performance of his or her duty may possess switchblade knives any may have them shipped to him and sold to him or her. The possession and transportation upon his or her person of a switchblade knife or a blade 3 inches or less is authorized to any handicapped individual who has the use of only one arm.

Yep. And read it. I didn't see anywhere in the Federal code that said it was illegal to ship to civilians. Did I miss something?

Legal or not, dude doesn't have a knife on the way. Arguing w vendor will get you nowhere. Esp if it's an order clerk

    Personally found this interesting:

Recon 1 Cutlery and Emergency Supplies

I got the Les George prototype w/skull, they only had one of the 60 made.

ETA: I don't see an "Emerson" if that is the model.

ETA.2: The knives I looked at were cheaper than from BladeHQ.

The problem is I wanted the Gerber 06, auto with tanto blade. I ordered it from two different sites, the one I post here and also Botach (who has the best price). The other sites either don't seem to have it available or the price is way out there (it's not that I'm too picky) Botach had it for $124, just about everyone else is at least $150 up to $200 and I'm buying 3 of them.

I'll try searching the other site y'all recommended.

I ordered mine Monday morning, got it yesterday (Wednesday) in the mail..."Recon1.com"......

Man I don't know what the heck you bought from there but they don't have much to choose from and almost everything they do have is over$200, only one is under $200 and it looks cheap and I've never heard of the brand.
