Prepaid online and got app and PIN before the class.

10/02 Status changed to "Processing application."
11/19 Status changed to "Application Completed - license issued or certificate active."

Now just waiting on plastic to arrive in my mailbox. Looks like things are getting quicker. BTW, had standard inked fingerprints.

    UPDATE!

    09/17 Mailed application.
    11/24 License received in mail

68 days from sending off app to receiving CHL.

The new licenses are prettier than the old ones. And that counts for something....right?

Mailed my application 9/21 and received my license yesterday 11/25. Originally thought it was going to take until year end but was only 65 days from mailing the packet to receiving the license.

    Tracing my hubby's CHL app:
    10-27-09 -- CHL class
10-29-09 -- App mailed to DPS
    11-02-09 -- Received at DPS
    11-12-09 -- Received PIN/Processing app
11-26-09 -- App Completed - license issued or certificate active
    ??-??-?? -- Plastic in hand

We have yet to receive the actual license, but it was approved. That's 28 days from mailing, 24 days from their receipt of the packet, to get it approved. ^_^

Of course I'm sure it helps that he's only ever lived in two counties, has no criminal record, and probably over-provided them with information in fear that it would be sent back... Of course, he has a fairly unique name as well so I doubt they had to spend a whole lot of time ensuring he was the correct person when doing the background check.

I'm sure you'll have yours pretty soon as long as you crossed your t's and dotted your i's. Again, I was really impressed with the speed of processing!

    8/20/09 - Mailed Application
11/2709 - “Application Completed - license issued or certificate active”

Now bear in mind that I’m not a US citizen, but a (legal) Permanent Resident and would have to go through at least one more background check than most of you at Customs and Border Protection, I have to say I am pleasantly surprised.

I’m off to look for a holster !

Good deal. I've only ever lived in one county, and have a fairly unique name too. Daryn. I quadruple checked everything, and even had the notary and instructor double check every thing too. Hell, we probably had the same instructor too at Red River Firearms. lol.
We'll see. Im not getting my hopes up though, Im looking at around Christmas to be safe.

I mailed my renewal on the 11/06, it shows complete on 12/01. That's a lot faster than my original application.

    I'm on Day #80...

Sent an email to the customer service email address and was told they're "waiting on the background check to be completed".
