For pistol and not being noticeable
When I bought mine (Safe Life Defense) it came with a concealed carrier. I don't plan on wearing it all the time so I would rather have the armor in the tactical carrier that I can get to if needed. I've practiced putting it on many times.

Carrying a spare magazine because it may fail is for chumps.

Your gun is much more likely to fail than your magazine.
Is that so? If true that amazes me because then all of my firearms training from LE personnel and from the NRA, over the course of about 43 years, concerning the number one mechanical related cause of semi-auto failures must have been wrong. Those instructors, who taught me, always said mag related problems were the main reason for a semi auto pistol to have failure for both mechanical and non-mechanical (user error) failures. Of course, the number one reason for any firearm to fail is user error whether it has to do with the magazine or not.

Carry a spare gun and always have a plan to get to a bigger gun.

Most gun fails I have require a mag drop to clear. Tap/Rack/Bang does not work for many double feeds and hard stove pipes.

At range it is easy to take mag out with weak hand, retain, clear, put back in.

In a gunfight just drop mag is fastest way.

14 in the sheild plus, 13 in the spare mag and my swinging walking stick.

    Plus sharp pointy things.

If they ever make decent plus 2 extended bases I'll get them too.

If they had civilian ammo bearers I'd carry more. More guns, more ammo and more knives and sticks.

More is better but my flat crippled old man ars will only support so much weight on a belt.

I have the old man syndrome “ noassatall”. Might be time for suspenders.
