Yes, the victim should have moved back when shooter started swinging muzzle about,
Yes the counter guy could have warned him
THE ONLY GUILTY PERSON IS THE ONE WHO BROUGHT A LOADED GUN INSIDE (1)
THE GUY WHO FAILED TO CONTROL MUZZLE DIRECTION (2)
THE GUY WHO TOUCHED OFF THE ROUND (3)

    Not where you are
Hard to tell at beginning it appears he drops mag places on ctr then cycles rd out of gun. So if so where/how did the offending rd get chambered?

    Maybe I missed something.

Looks like an XD to me.

Could have been a bad ejector. Same thing happened on the Submarine Grampus in the '70s. Heading to sea, the topside watches 1911 was readied to stow. Torpedo Chief drops mag, cycles the slide 3 times and pulls the trigger- BANG!
ALWAYS look at the breech to be POSITIVE!

Yeah. A couple seconds after he puts the mag on the counter he appears to place the ejected round from the chamber on the counter.

    Thats what I dont get
    Drops mag
    Cycles action
    Places round on counter.

So where did the chambered round come from. Magic bullet fairy?

Also look like something fell out after he racked the slide.

Kind of looks like a Springfield XD case. Either way, lots of blame to pass around.

Looks like a Springfield case, but the Springfield is laying to the left on a 'book' and the offending weapon was unholstered by the guy in the red shirt. So you don't know the weapon that discharged.

The gun that fired is lying butt up between 'book' and gun case. The cut out in the case foam looks like the two tone 3.5" Springfield laying in the book.

This has happened to at least two gun stores, that I know of, here in the Dallas area. Luckily neither time caused any injuries.
I guess a some hearts may have stopped for a few seconds.
This is part of the gun history. The sad thing to me is, people that have been around guns for a long time seem to be the ones with the memory lapses. Familiarity breeds complacency. It should be the other way around.
Glad no one was seriously injured in this video either.
