Guided goose hunts on the Katy prairie the year I got out of the service ('73).

Used about a hundred white cloths (diapers, at the time, later white 2x2 plastic squares) and a dozen or so goose decoys (head and neck only, and stuck through one of the plastic squares to hold it down).

Used 12" stakes made from coat hangers, as above.

And one white plastic sheet big enough for each hunter to both sit on and cover up with.

All the above was carried easily in an old army duffel bag, and light enough to slog through rice and soy bean fields without breaking a sweat.

Goose calling is easy to learn .... unlike a duck call, hard to do it wrong.

Nothing gets the heart pumping like looking over your barrel at a flock of 12 - 14 lb Canadians coming in with feet down. Good luck!

And, on the right cold and foggy morning, maybe several hundred landing in your spread, too close to shoot. ;)

A coworker had some property (or rather his grandmother did) that we went goose hunting on. When geese come in, it's amazing! But what usually happens is the sky clears up and the geese stay up at 30,000 feet where even an antiaircraft gun wouldn't bring them down.
