Just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. My name is Tim and I found this forum through google, searching a question about Texas firearm Laws. I hope to learn more about firearms and safety and maybe meet some like-minded fine folk. Take care and thanks for reading.

i appreciate the welcome guys! i am a new gun owner and at the moment only have two firearms. a maverick 88 12 gauge shotgun and a small 22 mag rough rider 6 shooter revolver for target practice. my gf and I recently were given access (not ownership) of 175 acres of ranch land out in Llano Texas. Family members of ours rent out the ranch to those that need to run cattle, and also use the land for hunting purposes. While I have not hunted any game yet, we have been having some fun plinking (yes we have a huge pile of dirt as a backstop, I did my research) and we hope to get a new firearm soon. any suggestions would be appreciated. we were thinking of a rifle next, or possibly another handgun for personal defense.
