Some of you might know me from other forums but since I'm moving to Houston at the end of the month I thought I'd stop by and say hi.
I'm originally from Northern California but I was getting tired of being treated like a second class citizen because I drive a beat up old mustang instead of a Tesla and don't work in silicon valley.
There's something vile about not being able to afford the cost of living in the town you were raised in. Small houses in what used to be a quiet little farming town were going for upwards of half a million dollars and don't even get me started on the cost of rent.
Since I wasn't just born to pay bills and die I got a job in Houston and am leaving my home state for greener pastures. Ironically I'm getting paid more in Texas than I ever did in California and the cost of living is so much cheaper.
It's nice to be able to save up for a house and a future. It's even better to be able to live in a state that considers the second amendment to be a vital part of American life instead of something to chip away at every time there's a tragedy.
