    Howdy folks,

Today I'm running a redot / reflex sight on my AR15 and I would like to get some additional magnification. As my current Trijicon MRO can't have a magnifier added, I need to find a total new kit :-(
Starting from scratch, my research brought me to the Eotech HHS, Trijicon MRO HD+magnifier or Holosun 510+magnifier. The Eotech and Trijicon are pretty close on price and the Holosun seams to be a bit cheaper. Too many choices to figure it out alone. I'm looking for something that puts a circle with a dot in the middle and optionally magnifies 3x in a flip to side style. I'm not looking for a long range scope. Any recommendations/feedback/info are very much appreciated!

    Thanks

Honestly.......every magnifier I have had the chance to look at on other folks rifles ( don't run magnifiers on mine) the eye relief was very very short...to the point that I wouldn't own any of of them that I've looked at......Vortex, Sig Sauer and Holosun.........

My point is get hands on with them before you buy one.......

I used to run a cheaper magnifier behind an EoTech. In the end I took it off.

It seemed to only be useful in very specific circumstances. Like if you just really needed to a better look. But then it was only 3X and hardly worth it. A fixed 4X scope would be a better option at that point, with a small RDS mounted on top or offset if it was really needed.

Just my experience. I’m sure there are those who use them and love them. Just didn’t end up being a practical or efficient setup for me.

Yeah. If it's kept on magnified all the time, you might as well get a single optic and enjoy the lighter weight and purpose built reticle

At 1x you have an extra 10oz hanging off the side of the gun...

An ACOG with RMR on top is a fantastic combo, and much more intuitive than flipping magnifiers around, or canting the rifle off 45°

That might be very well true ... the ACOG with RMR on top is probably what I'll go for.

Thanks for all the feedback, this was very helpful

I have run the eo techs with magnifiers, and I too prefer the piggyback rmr/ acog combo.
