This evening I went over to a friend of mine's house to help do a timing belt on a TDI VW (ugh). I went to go look in the back for some wood for a jack, and came across some lead ingots sitting on the ground. I found the board I needed and went back to my friend and asked him about them. He told me he used to have hundreds of pounds of the stuff, but couldn't remember if he threw it away. I told him if he ever wanted to get rid of it to call me, he told me he had no use for it and if I could haul it away I could have it.
We both went back there and moved a piece of scrap metal and there was a bucked of lead weights and a ton more ingots. It turns out the guy has about 200-250 lbs of the stuff and it's all mine now. Can you say bullet casting?
I couldn't be happier right now.
