I've fired it for years and never had any problems. What you are describing is indeed very strange.

Cool! Blazer 40 S&W there was $15.95... bought 2 boxes= 6 bucks saved. I'm headed that way to try the monarch .380 and will ask about price match.

The Blazer I got at Walmart were Blazer Brass Blazer - Blazer Brass apparently in reloadable brass. The ones at Academy has the version with aluminum casing. Stuck with what I got, and will start keeping the spent brass.

I've had no problems with Monarch 380 ammo, it always goes boom and while it might be smoky and dirty, it's not set off my smoke alarms yet.
