    Today I bought 10 film holders for 8x10 view cameras, several 5x7s, a few 6 1/2 x 81/2s, 4x5s and other odd sizes

These are all from the 1880s to 1930s. All wood and in useable condition.

I don't intend to put film in them (although I still have my view camera). I am going to use them as picture frames for digital work. Kind of what's old is New Again thing.

It's cheaper than having custom frames an they look good.

I have been asked to talk to a beginner's photo class. They are doing film and darkroom printing. It's going to be fun if I can keep from giving printing advice.

So far I have spent about 600 greenbacks on these..

I know a couple of people who bought shit off e-bay like an addiction.

I am doing it for a specific purpose. Also I am getting back into photography but as a hobby this time. I lost interest when my wife had her wreck and had to give up both doing it and her professorship teaching it.

Man this digital business is different. I am used to a 40 page instruction manual . Now I am trying to master a 300 page manual for each camera.

I have bought some photography gear off of eBay with no issues including a d700 body and Nikon f2.8 80-200mm afs zoom lens. At the time it was a $1400 used lens and $1400 used body. No issues, still use them today. Look at the sellers history...

Lately I have spent money on scuba gear. With a little work you can find some good deals on recently serviced regulators...1st stage here, second stages elsewhere. I put together 2 $800 rigs for about $300-$350 each. Then I purchased to tools to work on them...now looking at annual service parts for future use....

    To All,

As a fan of OLD westerns, British murder mysteries & the classic Hollywood movies of the 1940-60s era, I find a LOT of real deals on NEW DVDs.

Many are as little as 1.99 with free S&H.
(So I guess I'm an ebay addict for DVDs & numerous parts for my antique cars.)

    yours, satx

I had an ebay seller send me a different (but close) lens. Worth half what I paid since it was a much older model. Then would not answer my emails.
Took a month but got my money back.

The risk these days is selling on ebay. Buyers have 6 months to change their mind or make a bogus claim that ebay/paypal will support.
