    Cut N Shoot
Smitty, remind me what brake you used on yours. My buddy wont shoot his due to recoil. I can't find where you mentioned it before.
I don’t know what brand it is, just a cheap 3 port brake.

Ok so its more like Legos but I do like it. I have 556 and 22lr from rifle to braced pistol. I am trying to decide what Caliber next only rule is locked breech not blow back.

So lets see what people want to see.

    uilim; All,

    .30 HAM'R??

Personally, I want a RVN-era M16A1 "parts kit" made into a FOLDING STOCK carbine with 16" barrel, that will fit into a "horn-case" & will look VERY LOW-KEY when cased/transported.
(Think: Tommy-Gun in a violin case.)
Fwiw, I cannot afford an AR18.

ADDENDA: Does anyone know if a circa 1970-style M16 barrel be rebored/rechambered to .30 HAM'R??

    yours, satx

no the barrel is too thin for a rebore to a 30 cal round. Those M16/M16a1 all have pencil barrels.

    uilim,

THANKS. - I was afraid of that.
(IF/WHEN that I have a .30 HAM'R AR15 "clone" made, it will have a "fat enough" 16" barrel for Jessie at JES to rebore/rechamber.)

    uilim,

THANKS for the answer. - FYI, the early-1970s COLT M16 parts kit that I've found FOR CHEAP (<300.oo) has NO barrel included, so I'm wondering what diameter barrel that CAN be re-bored to .30HAM'R. - Any idea??

'Top of the hill, Kerr County!
I put together (with help from TheGomezClan guy) a 300 BLK pistol. I handloaded some 220 grain bullets to subsonic (I'm estimating about 1000/1200 fps. and it shoots great. Very little recoil and very little muzzle blast.

I am thinking about it but I have too many 556 firearms and always worry about a 300 getting dropped into a 556 ... I know but it does happen way toooooo much to people

I would think a .300 blackout or a 7.62x39 would work and need only be re-chambered

    AZRefugee,

I had NOT considered that option! = THANK YOU.

OFFHAND, do you know what the usual twist rate of 7.62X39mm barrels is for the AR-15??
(I wonder if a "standard" 7.62X39 barrel will stabilize a 150-160 grain spitzer.)

ADDENDA: ONE advantage for those of us who handload is that the HAM'R can be fireformed from the VERY NUMEROUS (and therefore CHEAP) 5.56nato cases.
(IF/WHEN I do assemble a 16" barreled, folding stock, AR "clone" in .30 HAM'R, I plan to try some of my homebrew/hard-cast GCCB in it.)

    yours, satx
