It didn't taste exactly like pad thai because I didn't use tamarind sauce, but it was good.

Ingredients: rice noodles, chicken, vegetable oil, bean sprouts, ketchup, sugar, soy sauce, egg

I got the recipe for this from a thai cookbook.

    1/2 pound rice noodles
    1/4 cup vegetable oil
    2 cloves garlic (chopped)
1 tsp shredded pickled salted radish (I couldn't find this)
1/4 pound boneless chicken breast sliced
    1 egg (lightly beaten)
    1/2 pound bean sprouts
    1 TBSP ketchup
    1 tsp soy sauce
    1/4 cup chopped peanuts
    1 tsp sugar
    1-2 TBSP fish sauce
    1 ounce chives

Garnish: chives. 1 line quartered, 1 tsp red chile pepper flakes

Soak rice noodles in warm water for 30 minutes;drain. heat oil in a wok on high heat and cook garlic and salted radish until light brown. Add chicken and egg; stir fry for 3-4 minutes. Add rice noodles and 1/2 the bean sprouts; mix well. Stir it ketchup, soy sauce, peanutes, sugar ,fish sauce. cook for 3 minutes. Add chives and remaining bean sprouts; mix well. garnish with chives and red chile pepper flakes.
    Makes 3 to 4 servings.
