    It's all in the words and/or the misuse thereof. The gun on the set was a REAL gun being used as a prop. Actual prop guns are just that: they look and function like real guns but are incapable of firing real ammo or at least bad things will happen if such a "prop" is loaded with real ammo. A misfire is when the firing pin strikes the cartridge and there is no boom. A slight delay is called a hang fire. What happened here was a negligent discharge with a real gun; not a misfire. AND the gun didn't go off. The trigger was pulled.
